Welcome to ketchharbourwolves.ca
This place is new to us. We've come by it honestly. Where we were before just wasn't where we needed to be, so we packed our things, steadied by thoughts of something more august, and began our journey to here. Our new home.
What you're seeing is the beginning of some fantastic drapery. Gears behind curtains take time to set in motion; they require calculations of spurs interlocking in convoluted ratios and reductions, all in accordance with the ever-changing firmament. But we're highly optimistic of what's to come, namely a home less limiting, and one that reflects the sounds we're slaving over with pristine clarity. So please, bear with us as this freshly christened vessel sees its planks swell under the new pressure of its surrounding seas.
Thanks for visiting. You are always welcome here.

The Ottawa Sun’s Denis Armstrong interviewed Ketch Harbour Wolves lead singer Jonathan Tyrrell, resulting in the Dec. 15 article ‘Wolves Head for the Harbour’.
“Jonathan Tyrrell thought it would be a clever bonding move if his new band Ketch Harbour Wolves gave up the amphetamine, rock-and-roll lifestyle of southern Ontario to collect their creative juices in the quiet of Ketch Harbour, a remote village, population 200, just south of Halifax.”

When Zaphod Beeblebrox and i(heart)music asked us to set fire to the nation’s capital we couldn’t say no. The venue in Ottawa in tandem with the foremost indie review blog of our fine nation? Say no more. So onward, through the frozen air and tall pines of the Ottawa Valley to the southern banks of the Ottawa River for one last show to end a triumphant year. It’s going to be one hell of an evening. We hope you’ll join us.

The year’s final days are quickly spent. Worn and tired, autumn gives way to winter in delicate increments. Time now for one more show, one more performance in our beloved city as the concrete tightens ever so slightly beneath the gathering cold. Toronto crusaders The Rest and Chinese Food will be alongside, setting fire to the walls of the El Mocambo, taking the final steps in putting a tired year to bed. Come, carve an evening out of your calendar and escape the psychotic unrest of red and green and white!

Spaces Between Studio - Halifax, N.S. Canada
“The vessel is cracked for the earth to take back - still whistling out your song”
Sonic integrity is inextricably linked to the spaces we perform in; the rehearsal warehouse, practice hall, concert venue and recording studio are acoustic instruments, each with their own delicate nuances. The same way a body amplifies a voice, the acoustic colour of a well tuned room brings levity to the birth of thought and sound. Pre-production in Halifax, Nova Scotia in the Spaces Between Sound Studio, between one-hundred year old tomato plants and the watchful eyes of a cat named Pluto - the realization of Anachronisms is well underway.

In Cincinnati now, the day after; hangovers and blurred memories. Onward to Windsor, back to the familiar side of the border. Saturday will be Toronto, another homecoming after far too long. The El Mocambo is in our sights, at the end of this journey. It will be good to be home.
